Elderly Veterans may be eligible for a wide-variety of benefits available to all U.S. military Veterans. VA benefits include disability compensation, pension, education and training, health care, home loans, insurance, Veteran Readiness and Employment, and burial.

Later, then your full retirement age for retirement insurance benefits is 67. If you work, and are at full retirement age or older, you may keep all of your benefits, no matter how much you earn.

If you were born in 1960 or later, your full retirement age is 67. You can start taking Social Security retirement benefits as early as 62, but the benefit is reduced by 30% (or less if born before 1960) from the amount payable by waiting until the FRA to claim it.

Advantage 65 – A Medicare supplemental plan that pays secondary to Medicare and pays most Medicare coinsurance/co-payments for covered services.

Chesterfield County participates in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) defined benefit plan.
