Red fox may be hunted (but not trapped) by a resident, without a licence and at all times of the year on any privately owned land to which he or she has the right of access. Check with your municipality on any restrictions on the use of firearms. Never feed foxes.
Rules for Hunting in Minnesota If you are hunting the coyotes on your own land, private land that you own, you can also trap them. If you're hunting coyotes on public land, you'll need a small game and trapping license to trap them.
Are trappers required to have a license? All states where trapping occurs require a trapping license for residents and non-residents. In some states, resident landowners are not required to have a license when trapping on their own property. States vary in resident and non-resident trapper license age thresholds.

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1980 must have a MN DNR Firearms Safety Hunter Education Certification or Hunter Safety Education Certificate issued by another State in order to obtain a license to hunt or trap in Minnesota (a Permit to Carry does not meet this requirement).
