The Convention for Safe Containers (CSC), established in 1972, is an international agreement maintaining global container handling and transportation standards.The WCO, recognizing the unique position of Customs in the international supply chain, launched in June 2005 the SAFE Framework of Standards (SAFE Framework). The International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) provides test procedures and related strength requirements for containers. CSC means 'Container Safe Convention. The Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) Plate includes information on the date and location of manufacture, as well as other specifications. The Convention applies to an owner of a container used in international transport if the owner is domiciled or has its principal office in the United States.
