There is no days per week restriction. 16 and 17-year-old minors enrolled in school may not work for more than nine hours in any one day, 40 hours in a school week, 48 hours in a non-school week, and six days in any one week.

Minors ages 16 and older are exempt from the hour and scheduling restrictions. These minors may work as many daily and weekly hours as the job responsibilities require or the employer requests.

Ages 16 & 17 Older teens are allowed to work for up to 48 hours over the course of the week. 16 and 17-year-olds are allowed to work between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. most days and as late as a.m. on nights before nonschool days.

During the school year, minors aged 16 to 17 generally are limited to 4 hours of work on a school day, 8 hours on a nonschool day, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. (or until a.m. on a nonschool day). When school is out, the limits are 8 hours per day and 48 per week.

Unlike some other states, South Carolina does not require juvenile work permits. This means that a teen does not need to get any special permission from the state to begin working.
