Arizona does not provide employees with unpaid leave beyond FMLA. Twelve (12) workweeks of leave in a 12month period for: ○ The birth of a child and to care for the newborn child within one year of birth.The FMLA lets you take up to 12 work weeks (or three months) of unpaid, job-protected leave in a 12-month period for the following family and medical reasons. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides certain employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year. The FMLA allows an employee to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in an FMLA year. The FMLA year may be the same as the calendar year, but does not have to be. The FMLA entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take job-protected, unpaid leave for specified family and medical reasons. Under the law, employers must provide requested accommodations that promote pregnancy health and that allow the pregnant patient to work comfortably. The Family and Medical Leave Act provides employees with up to 12 weeks of leave within a 12-month period.
