In South Carolina, salaried employees have access to various types of leave. Workers' Compensation:​​ 2.Non-exempt employees must receive overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek. Overtime is calculated on a weekly basis, not daily. It is the intent of the General Assembly that state employees receive any pay increase appropriated in a consistent and uniform manner. (A) The minimum full-time workweek for employees of state agencies and institutions is thirty-seven and one-half hours. Non-exempt employees must receive prior approval to work overtime. The South Carolina Illegal Immigration Reform Act requires all employers to verify the legal status of new employees. Employers shall post certain labor laws. If an employee does not qualify as exempt, the employee must be paid time a half for any hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek.
