California PTO law does not prescribe a specific amount of vacation time employers must provide their employees. There is no mandated minimum number of vacation days, and employers have the flexibility to establish their policies regarding vacation time.

Because paid vacation benefits are considered wages, such pay must be included in the employee's final paycheck. 11.California law mandates that employers provide a minimum of 24 hours (3 days) of paid sick leave every year. California Labor laws do not require that companies offer paid sick time, vacation pay or PTO, nor does it require holiday pay. Under California law, employers are not required to provide a set amount of paid time off (PTO) or paid vacation days. Under California leave laws, employees have the right to take an unpaid leave of absence for certain events.
