This Act provides for the registration of trade unions, legal proceedings, membership of minors, dissolution of the Union and the procedure for conducting disputes.

In Jamaica, the Employment (Termination and Redundancy Payments) Act (ETRPA) governs the legal requirements for notice periods during employment termination.

The Trade Union Act, 1919 (amended 1938), Labour Relations & Industrial Disputes Act (LRIDA),1975 provides a legislative framework for recognition, industrial dispute resolution and statutory arbitration.

Effective July 1, 2024, the Nevada minimum wage will increase to $12.00 per hour, regardless of the whether the employer offers employees qualifying health benefits.

Any number of hours exceeding 40 counts as overtime and must be compensated at a higher hourly rate. Non-exempt employees who do exceed that number are entitled to 1.5 times their regular rate.

Labour laws are enacted with three purposes: Protective Legislations, Auxiliary Legislations and Restrictive Legislations.

In the state of Nevada, an employer shall not employ an employee for a continuous period of 8 hours without permitting the employee to have an uninterrupted meal period of at least 30 minutes.
