In South Carolina, there is no state-specific law that limits the number of hours an adult employee can work straight in a single day or week. However, certain industry-specific regulations and collective bargaining agreements may impose limits to ensure safety and protect workers' rights.

Minimum Age Standards For Employment 16 - Basic minimum age for employment. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds may be employed for unlimited hours in any occupation other than those declared hazardous by the Secretary of Labor.

The Pennsylvania Child Labor Act requires all minors ages 14 - 17 to have a work permit in order to be employed. For individuals who are under 16 years of age, a written statement by the minor's parent or legal guardian is also required.
