Federal Laws: Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), 14- and 15-year-olds can work in certain jobs but are limited in the number of hours they can work: - During school weeks: Up to 3 hours on a school day and 18 hours in a school week. - During non-school weeks: Up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.

When school is not in session or when the person is not enrolled in school they can work eight (8) hours per day for a total of forty (40) hours per week. They can not work before a.m. or after p.m. when school is not in session or when the person is not enrolled in school.

Under 16: When school is not in session, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. (Minors 14 & 15 are generally not permitted to work when school is in session) 16 and 17: Generally, when school is not in session, 8 hours per day, 48 hours per week, 6 days per week.

In the US, the nationwide rule is that 15 year-olds cannot work more than 40 hours in a week if school is not in session. So it is possible to be scheduled to work 8 consecutive days if the total hours are not more than 40. However, there are a few states that may have slightly different rules.

A.R.S. 23-233 restricts the hours that youths under the age of sixteen (16) can work. No one under the age of sixteen (16) can work more than three (3) hours on a school day when enrolled in school on a day when school is in session, eight (8) hours on a non-school day for a total of eighteen (18) hours per week.

Currently, Arizona's minimum wage is $14.35 per hour. Arizona's Under 20 Minimum Wage (for employees under 20 years old) is $4.25 per hour for the first 90 days of employment. Arizona's minimum hourly wage for full-time students is $12.20, which is 85% of the regular minimum wage.

Minors ages 14 and 15 must work within prescribed scheduling restrictions, as outlined below. Normal school sessions include all days in which the school observes a standard academic calendar. During normal school sessions, minors ages 14 and 15 may work a maximum of three hours per day, up to 18 hours per week.

The Federal Child Labor Law prohibits 16 and 17 year olds from driving on the job.Typically, children who are 13 years old or younger aren't allowed to work in the state. Between June 1 and Labor day, Minors ages 14-15 may not work before 7am or after 9pm, and may work for 8 hours per day, but not more than 40 hours per week. A minor aged 14 or 15 years old can work up to 40 hours a week during Spring, Winter, and Summer Break. If an employer provides work breaks or lunches, the employer determines the length of the break and lunch period. Must be at least 16 years old for Team Member. Basic math: 1 year (Preferred).
