Minors ages 14 and 15 must work within prescribed scheduling restrictions, as outlined below. A minor aged 14 or 15 years old can work up to 40 hours a week during Spring, Winter, and Summer Break.14-15 year olds may work up to 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, unless attending summer school. From June 1 - Labor Day may work between 7am and 9pm. Minors aged 14 and 15 can work up to 3 hours per day and a maximum of 18 hours per week. Work hours must fall between 7 a.m. Youths 14 and 15 years old may work outside school hours in various non-manufacturing, non-mining, non-hazardous jobs with certain work hours restrictions. Under the FLSA, as well as Kentucky and Indiana state law, 14 and 15yearolds cannot work prior to 7 a.m. Minors 16 and 17 years old do not have time restrictions, but may not work in hazardous jobs such as manufacturing, construction, and similar fields. Child Labor Laws apply to all employees who are under 18 years of age.
