All process--including a summons--may be served anywhere within Arizona. (b) Serving a Summons and Complaint or Other Pleading. The summons and the pleading being served must be served together within the time allowed under Rule 4(i). The serving party must furnish the necessary copies to the person who makes service.

Except as provided in these Rules, a party shall not serve upon any other party more than forty (40) interrogatories, which may be any combination of uniform or non-uniform interrogatories. Any uniform interrogatory and its subparts shall be counted as one interrogatory.

You may not split a claim and file two separate actions. You may file for the "court costs"in addition to the $10,000 maximum. Civil lawsuits in Arizona are governed by the Justice Court Rules of Civil Procedure (PDF).

In California, for most cases, personal service must be completed at least 16 court days before the court date. A court day is any day the court is open, typically Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. If the recipient resides outside of California, they must be served at least 20 days before the court date.

A party may use a uniform interrogatory when it is appropriate to the legal or factual issues of the particular action, regardless of how the action or claims are designated. A party propounding a uniform interrogatory may do so by serving a notice that identifies the uniform interrogatory by form and number.

(i) Time Limit for Service. If a defendant is not served with process within 90 days after the complaint is filed, the court--on motion, or on its own after notice to the plaintiff--must dismiss the action without prejudice against that defendant or order that service be made within a specified time.

Pleadings Allowed. Only these pleadings are allowed: a complaint; an answer to a complaint; a counterclaim; an answer to a counterclaim designated as a counterclaim; an answer to a crossclaim; a third-party complaint; an answer to a third-party complaint; and, if the court orders one, a reply to an answer.

You can send the court papers by giving the post office copies of the court papers in an envelope, postage prepaid, to be sent to the other party by any form of mail requiring a signed and returned receipt. This is often called Certified Mail, Restricted Delivery by the post office.
