Texas law provides a variety of property tax exemptions for qualifying property owners. An owner may only file one homestead exemption, and the application must be filed with the Appraisal District in the county the property is located in. An updated Texas issued Driver License or Identification card showing your current physical address is required to qualify for the homestead exemption.
