Under federal law, all income is counted to determine eligibility for SNAP unless it is explicitly excluded. For SNAP purposes, “income” includes both earned income such as wages and unearned income such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and veterans, disability, and death benefits.

Your current or previous employer will fill out the third and fourth sections and don't need to completed by you, the applicant. First is the section on general employment information, followed by the loss of income section. Correctly completing these two sections is vital to a successful application.

Some of the eligibility rules are: Identity - Applicants must provide proof of their identity. Work Rules - Individuals aged 16 – 59 must meet General Work Requirements for SNAP unless exempt, such as being unable to work, caring for young children or incapacitated persons, or being a student.
