A person commits forgery if, with intent to defraud, the person: 1. Falsely makes, completes or alters a written instrument; or 2.ARS § 13-2002 defines Arizona's forgery law. In Arizona, a written instrument may be considered a forged instrument if it has an altered dollar figure or other material information. The Consumer Protection Unit investigates and prosecutes cases such as deceptive advertising, unfair competition, and other forms of consumer fraud.
