Forging Bank Bills, Checks, Drafts, or Promissory Notes. Forgery is classified as a third degree felony and is punishable up to five years in prison. In Florida, a felony is falsely making, altering, forging, or counterfeiting of certain documents with the intent to injure or defraud another.
