You must complete and return the Application for Overpayment Waiver (DE 1446UI) to be considered for a waiver. Your letter must include your name, address, Social Security number, and why you disagree with the determination.In the letter, provide the date that the Notice of Overpayment was sent to you. Your overpayment can only be waived for certain types of overpayments in addition to your income. No one here will be able to answer that for you. You can fill out an official appeal form (DE 1000M) or write a letter stating that you want to appeal the determination. This policy establishes the circumstances and approval process when a campus partner would like to cancel or forgive an overpayment.
