A complete ERS request should be submitted immediately. When you identify a Medicare overpayment, use the Overpayment Refund Formto submit the voluntary refund. If we have identified an overpayment and request a refund, please mail the check along with a copy of the overpayment request letter we sent you. The purpose of an overpayment demand letter is to notify the providers and suppliers of the existence and amount of an overpayment, and to request repayment.
