A bailment is possession but not ownership of personal property for a limited time or specified purpose, and the individual or business entity taking possession is liable to some extent for loss or damage to the property.


Therefore it is important to state in the agreement that this agreement is not a bailment of the Boat Owner's boat but a lease of berthing space.
