The Alaska Assignment of Service Mark — Change of Owner Only is a legal document that is used to transfer the ownership of service marks from one owner to another in the state of Alaska. Service marks are commonly referred to as trademarks, and are symbols, logos, or words that are used to identify a business or its products or services. The document must be signed by both the current owner of the service mark and the new owner, and must be notarized by an Alaska Notary Public. There are two types of Alaska Assignment of Service Mark — Change of Owner Only: an Assignment of Service Mark with Goodwill, and an Assignment of Service Mark without Goodwill. An Assignment of Service Mark with Goodwill includes the transferring of all the rights, title, and interest of the service mark and the goodwill associated with it to the new owner. An Assignment of Service Mark without Goodwill is the same as an Assignment with Goodwill, except that the goodwill is not transferred to the new owner.
