An Alaska Notice of Levy by a Court Writ is a legal document that allows creditors to seize property from debtors in order to satisfy a court-ordered debt. The Notice of Levy is issued by the court and is served to the debtor, informing them that their assets are subject to seizure in satisfaction of a court-ordered judgment. It is the responsibility of the court to ensure that the debtor's assets are properly distributed to the creditor. There are two types of Alaska Notice of Levy by a Court Writ. The first type is a Wage Garnishment, which orders an employer to withhold a portion of an employee's wages and send it to the creditor in satisfaction of a court-ordered debt. The second type is a Bank Levy, which orders a financial institution to freeze a debtor's account and turn over the assets to the creditor in satisfaction of a court-ordered debt.
