Alaska CHINA Therapeutic Court — Acknowledgment of Program Requirements is a program designed to help youth who have been charged with a crime and are in the custody of Child In Need of Aid (CHINA) court. The program is an alternative to incarceration and is focused on providing therapeutic interventions, including substance abuse treatment, mental health services, and educational and vocational support, to help the youth address and change their behavior. The program consists of three phases: Phase I (the Intake Phase), Phase II (the Intervention Phase), and Phase III (the Aftercare Phase). The program is voluntary and requires the youth to complete all phases in order to graduate. Each phase has specific requirements that must be met in order to move on to the next phase, such as court appearances, substance abuse treatment, and other individual and group activities. Participants must also complete an Acknowledgment of Program Requirements form, which outlines the expectations of the program and the consequences of non-compliance.
