An Alaska Request to Modify Decree of Dissolution and Order is a legal document filed with the court in the state of Alaska to change the terms of a court-approved divorce decree or dissolution of marriage. This document is used when one or both of the parties involved in the divorce wish to modify the court-ordered terms of their divorce, such as alimony, child support, division of property, and/or custody of the children. There are two types of Alaska Request to Modify Decree of Dissolution and Order: Joint Request to Modify Decree of Dissolution and Order, and Unilateral Request to Modify Decree of Dissolution and Order. The Joint Request to Modify Decree of Dissolution and Order is used when both parties agree to the changes to the divorce decree, while the Unilateral Request to Modify Decree of Dissolution and Order is used when one party wishes to make changes to the divorce decree without the consent of the other party. This document must be signed by both parties, and filed with the court. The court will then review the request and issue an Order of Modification.
