An Alaska Affidavit of Publication is a legal document that is required when filing certain documents with the Alaska court system. This affidavit confirms that the document was published in a newspaper of general circulation in the state of Alaska. There are three types of Alaska Affidavits of Publication: Notice of Li's Pendent, Notice of Sale, and Notice of Foreclosure. The Notice of Li's Pendent is used to inform the public that a legal action has been initiated against a real property owner; the Notice of Sale is used to inform the public of the sale of real property; and the Notice of Foreclosure is used to inform the public of a pending foreclosure. Each Affidavit of Publication must include the name of the newspaper, the date of publication, the court of filing, and a sworn statement from the publisher confirming that the document was published as required.
