The Alaska Anchorage Municipal Wellness Court is a court-supervised program designed to provide long-term recovery and support for individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues. The program combines supervision, case management, therapeutic interventions, and incentives to help participants successfully manage their issues and achieve sobriety. The program is designed to reduce recidivism and provide individuals with the resources to live a healthier, more productive life. The Alaska Anchorage Municipal Wellness Court is divided into two types of tracks: the Drug Court Track and the Mental Health Court Track. The Drug Court Track is a 12-month program that focuses on substance abuse issues and is designed to reduce the number of individuals with substance abuse-related offenses. The Mental Health Court Track is a 24-month program that focuses on mental health issues and is designed to reduce the number of individuals with mental health-related offenses. Both tracks provide participants with access to services such as housing assistance, vocational training, and peer-support groups.
