Alaska Notice to Creditors is a legal document that notifies creditors of a deceased person’s estate of the date, time, and location of a creditors' meeting. It also informs creditors of the procedures they must follow in order to file a claim against the estate. There are two types of Alaska Notice to Creditors: Probate Notice to Creditors and Non-Probate Notice to Creditors. Probate Notice to Creditors is sent to creditors when the decedent had an open probate estate. Non-Probate Notice to Creditors is sent to creditors when the decedent did not have an open probate estate and the estate is being administered without a probate court. Both types of notices contain the same information, but Non-Probate Notice to Creditors also includes additional information regarding the estate administrator and how claims can be made against the estate.
