The Alaska Anchorage Coordinated Resources Project (AA CRP) — Mental Health Court is a specialized court system that focuses on the rehabilitation of individuals suffering from mental health issues or substance abuse problems who have been charged with criminal offenses. This court provides an alternative to traditional criminal justice proceedings and provides individuals with access to services and resources designed to promote better mental health and reduce the likelihood of recidivism. AA CRP Mental Health Court is a collaborative effort between the Anchorage District Attorney's Office, Anchorage Police Department, Anchorage court system, and the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority. There are two types of AA CRP Mental Health Court: the Anchorage Mental Health Court and the Anchorage Reentry Court. The Anchorage Mental Health Court focuses on providing individuals with access to treatment and services that can help them better manage their mental health and reduce the risk of recidivism. The Anchorage Reentry Court works to provide individuals who have served time in prison with the resources and services they need to reenter the community successfully and without further criminal activity.
