The Alaska Juneau Coordinated Resources Project — Mental Health CourtJCRRP) is a specialized court program that provides treatment and support services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders who have been charged with a criminal offense. The JCR Mental Health Court is a voluntary program that combines judicial oversight, treatment, and support services in order for participants to address their underlying mental health issues and reduce recidivism. The JCR Mental Health Court offers two programs: the Court-Assisted Treatment Program (CAT) and the Intensive Supervision Program (ISP). The CAT Program is designed to provide an intensive, supervised treatment plan, coordinated by the court and treatment providers, to help individuals with mental health issues reduce their risk of reoffending. The ISP Program is designed to provide intensive supervision and monitoring for individuals who have successfully completed the CAT Program, or those who are deemed to have a lower risk of reoffending. The JCR Mental Health Court provides case management, supportive housing, employment assistance, and other services to help participants in their recovery. The goal of the JCR Mental Health Court is to promote recovery and reduce recidivism by providing individuals with the support and resources they need to lead healthy, successful lives.
