An Alaska Certificate of Authority (Foreign Business Corporation) is a document issued by the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development (DICED) that allows a foreign business corporation to do business in Alaska. There are two types of Alaska Certificate of Authority (Foreign Business Corporation): a Certificate of Authority to Transact Business and a Certificate of Authority to Utilize the Services of a Designated Registered Agent. The Certificate of Authority to Transact Business allows the foreign business corporation to transact business in Alaska, while the Certificate of Authority to Utilize the Services of a Designated Registered Agent allows the foreign business corporation to use the services of a designated registered agent in Alaska. The foreign business corporation must file the Certificate of Authority with the Alaska DICED in order to legally do business in the state.
