Alaska Articles of Incorporation (Domestic Cooperative Corporation) is a legal document that is filed with the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development to create a cooperative corporation. It includes information such as the name of the corporation, its purpose, the address of its registered office, the names and addresses of the incorporates, the capital structure of the cooperative, the number of shares of stock, and the names and addresses of the directors. The Articles must be signed and notarized before they can be filed. There are two types of Alaska Articles of Incorporation (Domestic Cooperative Corporation): Standard and Professional. The Standard Articles are for those who are forming the cooperative corporation for the purpose of engaging in any lawful business activity. The Professional Articles are for those who are forming the cooperative corporation for the purpose of engaging in a specific profession, such as a medical or legal practice.
