AFO works to ensure that decision makers, from local to state government, are held accountable to the people of Fairbanks. AFO organizes around a variety of issues and topics, including land use, water rights, climate change, economic development, healthcare access, and public safety. The organization is also committed to engaging with diverse communities and groups to foster collaboration and understanding. AFO has several action committees that focus on specific issues, including the Land Use Committee, the Climate Change/Energy Committee, the Economic Development Committee, the Healthcare Committee, and the Public Safety Committee. The organization also works to engage with youth, low-income, and minority populations to ensure their voices are heard in the policy-making process. AFO is committed to promoting fairness and justice in the Fairbanks community and beyond.
