Alabama Ambulance Services is a comprehensive network of emergency medical transportation and response services providing lifesaving care to citizens of Alabama. These services include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, air and ground medical transportation, and special event stand-by services. BLS ambulances are used for non-emergency medical transport, such as hospital-to-hospital transfers, while ALS ambulances are used for life-threatening emergencies, such as cardiac arrest and stroke. Air medical transportation is used for patients who require a higher level of care than can be provided by ground ambulances, such as those with critical injuries or illnesses, or those who must travel long distances. Special event stand-by services are available for large events with a high risk of medical emergencies, such as concerts, sporting events, or festivals. Alabama Ambulance Services also offers ambulance subscription programs for businesses and individuals.
