An Arkansas Guardianship Affidavit (Court-Appointed, Non-Minor) is a legal document which is used when a court appoints a guardian for a person who is 18 years of age or older and who is not a minor. The affidavit is a sworn statement made by the guardian, outlining the duties and responsibilities the guardian agrees to take on. It also states that the guardian is legally obligated to act in the best interest of the person who is being placed under guardianship. The affidavit must be signed by the guardian and notarized by a public notary. There are two types of Arkansas Guardianship Affidavit (Court-Appointed, Non-Minor): 1. The Temporary Guardianship Affidavit: This affidavit is used when the guardianship is for a limited amount of time and is usually granted for a period of three months or less. 2. The Permanent Guardianship Affidavit: This affidavit is used when the guardianship is for an extended period of time and is usually granted for a period of more than three months.
