Arizona Appearance of Counsel is a legal practice that allows attorneys to represent clients in other states without needing to be licensed in that state. This type of practice is used to provide legal representation in matters such as divorce, child support, and other family law matters. There are two types of Arizona Appearance of Counsel: Limited and Pro HAC Vice. Limited Appearance of Counsel allows an attorney to represent a client in a single legal proceeding, such as a hearing or trial. Pro HAC Vice Appearance of Counsel allows an attorney to represent a client in multiple legal proceedings in a particular state. Both types of Arizona Appearance of Counsel require an attorney to obtain permission from the court in the state in which the client is located before representing them. The attorney must also provide documentation to the court that demonstrates their qualifications to provide legal representation in that state.
