Arizona Certification to Court of Appeals is a certification process that allows attorneys to appear on behalf of a client in the Arizona Court of Appeals. The certification is granted to attorneys who have demonstrated the knowledge and experience necessary to practice before the court. There are two types of Arizona Certification to Court of Appeals: Limited Certification and Full Certification. Limited Certification is granted to attorneys who have five years of experience in the practice of law and have completed a minimum of 24 hours of continuing legal education in the past three years. Full Certification is granted to attorneys who have been practicing law for at least 10 years and have completed a minimum of 48 hours of continuing legal education in the past three years. In order to be eligible for certification, an attorney must also have a current license to practice law in Arizona, have no disciplinary or criminal history, and have no pending complaints. In addition, the attorney must pass a written examination given by the Arizona State Bar. Once the attorney has successfully completed the examination, they can submit an application for certification to the Court of Appeals. The application must include documentation of their past work experience, continuing legal education, and other relevant information. Once the application is approved, the attorney will receive their Arizona Certification to Court of Appeals.
