An Arizona Answer to Counterclaim is a legal document filed in response to a counterclaim in a civil lawsuit. It is a formal written response to the opposing party's Counterclaim, and is used to admit or deny the facts stated in the Counterclaim. Generally, an Answer to Counterclaim must be filed within 20 days after the Counterclaim has been served to the Respondent. There are three types of Arizona Answer to Counterclaims: the General Answer, the Limited Answer, and the Special Denial. The General Answer is a simple denial of all the facts and allegations stated in the Counterclaim. The Limited Answer is similar to the General Answer, except that the Respondent only denies certain facts and allegations stated in the Counterclaim. The Special Denial is an Answer to Counterclaim that specifically denies certain facts and allegations stated in the Counterclaim.
