An Arizona Order Stopping Income Withholding Order (also known as an Arizona OHIO) is a court order issued by an Arizona court that prevents employers from deducting money from an employee’s wages for child support payments. This order is typically issued when a custodial parent has not received all the child support payments that were ordered by the court, or when the non-custodial parent has not made any payments at all. The order stops employers from deducting child support payments from their employees’ wages until the court has determined the correct amount of payments and the non-custodial parent has begun making them. The two types of Arizona Order Stopping Income Withholding Orders are: (1) Temporary Order Stopping Income Withholding (TOPIC) and (2) Final Order Stopping Income Withholding (FOSSIL). A Temporary Order Stopping Income Withholding is issued when the custodial parent has not received payments for two months or more, and a Final Order Stopping Income Withholding is issued after a court hearing in which the non-custodial parent is found to be in arrears on child support payments.
