Arizona Request For Hearing is an administrative process used by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) to allow an individual to contest a decision made by DES regarding their unemployment insurance benefits. This process allows individuals to dispute a decision made about their unemployment benefits, such as denial, reduction, or termination of benefits. There are three types of Arizona Request For Hearing: Appeal Hearing, Waiver Hearing, and Supervisory Hearing. An Appeal Hearing is the most common type and allows an individual to challenge a decision made by DES regarding their unemployment insurance benefits. A Waiver Hearing is for individuals who wish to argue that they should not be held responsible for an overpayment of benefits. Lastly, a Supervisory Hearing is a request for a hearing by an individual who has received a notice of adverse action from DES.
