In Arizona, a party may serve another party with court papers using the “Acceptance of Service” method. This method is available after the filing of court papers and can be done without an in-person court appearance. The first step is to prepare a “Notice of Service” form. This form should contain the following information: The title of the case, Case Number, and the name and address of the party being served. The form should also include a statement that the other party must sign and return to the court clerk to acknowledge receipt of the court papers. Once the form is completed, it should be filed with the court clerk and mailed to the other party, along with a copy of the court papers. The other party should be served with this package in accordance with Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure, Rule 4. The other party can accept service of the court papers by signing the “Notice of Service” form and returning it to the court clerk, either by mail or in person. The court clerk will then enter this information into the court docket and notify all parties that service has been accepted. If the other party does not accept service, the court may order other methods of service, such as personal service by a process server or publication.
