Arizona Summons (Special Paternity-Maternity) is a document issued by the court to parties involved in a paternity or maternity case in Arizona. The Summons is a notification to the parties to appear in court to address the issues of paternity or maternity. It is issued by the court clerk, signed by the judge, and served on the parties by a process server. There are two types of Arizona Summons (Special Paternity-Maternity): the Summons for Paternity and the Summons for Maternity. The Summons for Paternity is used when the paternity of a child is in dispute and the Summons for Maternity is used when the maternity of a child is in dispute. Both types of Summons are used to notify the parties to appear in court to answer questions, provide documents, and present evidence to the court.
