Arizona Filing Civil Foreign Judgment is a type of legal procedure used to register a foreign judgment with an Arizona court. This is done to provide the creditor with the same legal rights and remedies that are available to them in the foreign jurisdiction, as well as to provide the judgment creditor with the ability to collect on the judgment in Arizona. There are two types of Arizona Filing Civil Foreign Judgments: direct and indirect. Direct Filing is when the foreign court judgment is registered directly with the Arizona court. Indirect Filing is when a court in the foreign jurisdiction issues a Certificate of Authentication, which then must be registered with the Arizona court. The Certificate of Authentication must contain certain information in order to be registered, including the name of the foreign court, the amount of the judgment, the date of the judgment, and the names of the parties involved.
