An Arizona Child Support Order is a court's decision that sets forth the financial responsibility of both parents for the support of their child or children. It states the amount of money each parent must pay and the period of time in which the payments must be made. The primary types of Arizona Child Support Orders are initial orders, modification orders, and enforcement orders. An Initial Order is the first child support order issued after parents enter into a divorce or separation agreement. It is based on the Arizona Child Support Guidelines which includes each parent's income, the number of children in the family, and the amount of time each child spends with each parent. A Modification Order is a change to an existing Arizona Child Support Order. This change can be requested by either parent if there has been a substantial change in circumstances such as an increase or decrease in either parent's income. An Enforcement Order is a court order that requires one parent to pay the other parent the amount of child support that has been ordered. It is usually requested when one parent is not paying the court-ordered amount of child support.
