The California Declaration Of Diligent Search (CDs) is a legal document required by the California Department of Social Services (CDs) for all adoptive placements. The CDs are a sworn statement from the adoptive parent(s) that they have conducted a thorough search for the birth parent(s) of the child and have made a diligent effort to contact them. The CDs must be signed by the adoptive parent(s) and submitted to the CDs with the adoption packet. There are two types of California Declaration Of Diligent Search: 1. Domestic Adoptions: This version of the CDs is used for domestic adoptions and must be completed by the adoptive parent(s) before the adoption can be finalized. 2. International Adoptions: This version of the CDs is used for international adoptions and must be completed by the adoptive parent(s) before the adoption can be finalized.
