California Petition For Resentencing-Reduction-Order is a process by which an incarcerated individual can request a reduction in their sentence, which may also be referred to as a resentencing. This petition must be submitted to the court in which the individual is currently serving their sentence, and the court will then review the petition and decide whether to grant the requested reduction. There are two types of California Petition For Resentencing-Reduction-Order: a) Petition for Early Release and b) Petition for Reduction in Sentence. In the first type, the individual can request that their sentence be reduced in terms of the time they must spend in prison, while in the second type, the individual can request that their sentence be reduced in terms of the severity of the punishment. In either case, the court will consider factors such as the inmate’s behavior while incarcerated, their rehabilitative efforts, and their likelihood of recidivism.
