California Notice of Appeal — CiviCommitmenten— - Mental Health Proceedings is a legal document used to initiate an appeal in the civil court system for those individuals who have been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility in California. These proceedings are generally used when the individual believes they have been wrongfully committed or have not received the proper treatment. The Notice of Appeal includes a statement of the facts of the case, the legal basis for the appeal, and the desired outcome. There are three different types of California Notice of Appeal — CiviCommitmenten— - Mental Health Proceedings. These are: 1) Voluntary Commitment Appeal, which is used when the individual willingly commits themselves for mental health treatment; 2) Involuntary Commitment Appeal, which is used when the individual is involuntarily committed to a mental health facility; and 3) Conservatorship Appeal, which is used when the individual is placed under a conservatorship.
