California Order On Petition To Inspect Adoption Records is a document issued by the court which grants an adopted or other party access to the adoption records of a particular individual. This document is needed by adopters in order to obtain information regarding their birth parents or other family members. There are three types of California Order On Petition To Inspect Adoption Records: Confidential Intermediary Order, Court Order and Agency Order. A Confidential Intermediary Order is issued when the adoption is not subject to the California Adoption Information Act and the parties involved have agreed to use a confidential intermediary to obtain information about the adoption. A Court Order is issued when the adoption is subject to the California Adoption Information Act and a court has granted access to the records. An Agency Order is issued when the adoption is not subject to the California Adoption Information Act and the adoption agency has consented to the release of the records. All of these documents are necessary in order for adopters to access their adoption records.
