California Individual Registration As Unlawful Detained Assistant (IRU DA) is a type of certification that is available to individuals in California who wish to work as an assistant to an Unlawful Detained Attorney (USA). It is a professional certification program that requires individuals to complete a comprehensive training program, as well as pass a written test. The program is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully serve as an assistant to an attorney in the eviction process. Individuals who complete the program and successfully pass the written test, will be issued a California Individual Registration as Unlawful Detained Assistant (IRU DA) Certificate. This certificate is valid for two years and can be renewed for an additional two years if certain requirements are met. There are two types of California Individual Registration as Unlawful Detained Assistant (IRU DA): Basic and Advanced. The Basic IRU DA program focuses on the basics of eviction law, including the filing of court documents, handling of documents, court procedures, and other related topics. The Advanced IRU DA program focuses on more advanced topics such as negotiation strategies, legal research, and other specialized topics. In order to maintain the certification, individuals must complete continuing education requirements and renew their certificate every two years. Renewal of the IRU DA certificate is required to maintain current status in the program.
