The Colorado Limited English Proficient (LEP) Data Privacy Plan is a guide for school districts and other educational institutions on how to protect the privacy of students' language and cultural data. This plan was created to ensure that the data of English Learners (ELS) is kept confidential and used only for the purposes of providing appropriate educational services to ELS. The plan outlines the need for districts to create policies and procedures, appoint a data privacy officer, and develop training for staff in order to protect the privacy of ELS' data. It also outlines the requirements for the collection, maintenance, destruction, and disclosure of the data.
