The Connecticut Application for Pro Bono Attorney (New Haven) is a program designed to help low-income individuals obtain legal services at no cost. This program provides access to attorneys who are willing to provide pro bono representation to individuals who cannot afford to pay for legal services. Pro bono attorneys provide assistance in a variety of legal matters, including family law, landlord/tenant law, criminal defense, immigration, and civil rights. The application is open to residents of New Haven County, Connecticut. There are two types of Connecticut Applications for Pro Bono Attorney (New Haven): the New Haven County Pro Bono Panel and the New Haven County Pro Bono Pool. The New Haven County Pro Bono Panel is a system of pre-screened attorneys who are willing to accept pro bono cases. The Panel reviews applications from low-income individuals and assigns them to an attorney who is willing and able to represent them. The New Haven County Pro Bono Pool is a system of volunteer attorneys who are willing to provide pro bono legal services. Attorneys in the Pool are assigned cases based on their available time and expertise.
