The Connecticut Application For Special Masters is a legal document used by the Connecticut Superior Court to appoint a Special Master in a case. A Special Master is an individual who is appointed by the court to review facts, evidence, and testimony; make recommendations to the court; or oversee the implementation of court orders. The Connecticut Application For Special Masters is available in two versions: the Short Form and the Long Form. The Short Form is used when the case does not involve complex issues or substantial amounts of evidence. The Long Form is used when the case involves complex issues or substantial amounts of evidence. Both versions of the Connecticut Application For Special Masters require the applicant to provide general information about the case, such as the names of the parties, the court, the case number, and the reasons the Special Master is being requested. The applicant must also outline the scope of the Special Master’s role, the estimated time and cost of the appointment, and the qualifications of the proposed Special Master. Once the application is completed, the applicant must submit it to the court for approval.
